Job Overview
Join SSP Canada as a Food Service Attendant based at Vancouver International Airport, where we operate various eateries such as Whistler Taphouse & Grill, Lift Bar and Grill, Urban Crave, Sal y Limon, and Romers, among others. This role involves preparing, serving, selling, and restocking food and beverages while maintaining excellent guest service standards. The position requires working in a secure airport environment with a mandatory Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and compliance with Transport Canada security regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and assist guests.
- Take orders accurately and input them into the point-of-sale system.
- Handle customer payments and provide correct change.
- Set up, clean, maintain, and dismantle equipment and machinery as needed.
- Complete required opening, ongoing, and closing checklists.
- Ensure all used items are returned properly; clean and organize work and storage areas, including coolers and refrigerators, and manage trash containers.
- Carry out cleaning duties using standard products per supervisor instructions, adhering to health standards.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience in the food service industry.
- High school diploma is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and understanding English to interact effectively with guests.
- Ability to memorize, promote, and communicate menu options clearly.
- Competence in operating POS systems.
- Capability to stand and work in confined areas for extended durations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada with the necessary government-issued documentation for airport security clearance.

- Hourly wage ranges from $21.25 for external hires up to $25.00 for internal candidates.
