Food Counter Attendant

Overview

This permanent full-time food counter role is based in Sackville, New Brunswick, and is offered in English. The position runs 30 to 40 hours per week and is suited to someone comfortable working in a busy, hands-on food service setting.

Education and experience

No certificate, diploma, or degree is required. Previous experience is not necessary, as training will be provided.

Key duties

• Move clean dishes, flatware, and other service items to the serving area and help set up tables.
• Wash, sanitize, and maintain items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
• Clear tables, trays, and chairs, then clean and reset them.
• Store dishes properly after use.
• Refill condiments and other supplies at tables and service counters.
• Wash dishes and related items by hand when needed.
• Track quantities of food used.
• Pack food for take-out orders.
• Portion, wrap, and prepare food items for service.
• Heat, finish, and assemble simple menu items.
• Restock refrigerators and salad bars.
• Take customer orders.
• Operate manual and electric equipment to clean, peel, slice, and trim food ingredients.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage spaces, appliances, and equipment.
• Handle and store cleaning supplies safely.
• Receive, unpack, and store deliveries in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
• Remove kitchen waste and garbage.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.

Schedule
