Job description

Role Overview

This Food Counter Attendant position is a permanent full-time role based in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. Working primarily onsite in a fast-paced environment, the attendant supports food service operations by preparing, packaging, and serving food items while ensuring hygiene and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport clean dishes, flatware, and other utensils to service points and arrange tables accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records on food usage quantities to support inventory tracking.
  • Package items for take-out orders efficiently and correctly.
  • Portion and wrap food servings to maintain freshness and presentation.
  • Prepare, warm, and complete simple meal items as required.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet stations courteously and promptly.
  • Replenish supplies in refrigerators and salad bars to ensure availability.
  • Take customer orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff.
  • Utilize both manual and electrical tools to clean, peel, slice, and trim various food items.
  • Sanitize kitchen areas including work surfaces, cupboards, appliances, and storage spaces.
  • Receive deliveries, unpack supplies, and organize them in refrigerators, freezers, and cupboards.
  • Manage waste by removing kitchen garbage and trash appropriately.
  • Keep floors clean by sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing regularly.
  • Prepare vegetables and fruits by washing, peeling, and cutting for use.
