Role Overview

Join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar as a Food & Beverage Attendant, where you'll contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences in our restaurant, room service, and catering & events departments.

Restaurant Duties

  • Adhere strictly to voco® F&B service sequences along with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain proper uniform and grooming in line with voco® standards.
  • Participate actively in daily briefings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Effectively communicate between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage SOPs, quality standards, presentation, and menu offerings.
  • Represent the voco® brand through excellent guest service and maintaining the restaurant’s prestigious image.
  • Welcome and engage returning and regular customers warmly and personally.
  • Provide menu presentations and buffet descriptions confidently and explain dish details clearly.
  • Accurately take guest orders, noting any preferences or dietary restrictions.
  • Promote menu items through suggestive selling to boost sales.
  • Ensure timely and presentable food and beverage service.
  • Conduct natural follow-ups to guarantee guest satisfaction.
  • Handle service issues proactively or escalate according to IHG’s resolution protocols.
  • Complete preparation tasks including mise-en-place and station setup prior to service.
  • Support buffet service by replenishing items and managing guest flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper table settings consistently.
  • Use POS systems with accuracy for order processing.
  • Clean and polish assigned silverware, cutlery, glassware, and chinaware; ensure equipment is functional and utilized appropriately.
  • Stay well informed about all hotel facilities, current services, and offerings.
  • Manage flagged reservations and special guest requests responsibly.
  • Keep updated on guest arrivals, preferences, dietary needs, and departure times.
  • Respond to guest inquiries about hotel amenities and local attractions.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning guest information.
  • Assist guests in resolving any issues to ensure a positive overall experience.

Room Service Responsibilities

  • Prepare trays and trolleys according to established service standards.
  • Answer room service calls promptly, within three rings.
  • Deliver courteous, warm service over the phone, taking orders efficiently with effective sales techniques.
  • Promptly deliver food and beverages to rooms, ensuring quality, accuracy, and a personalized touch.
  • Efficiently clear trays and trolleys from guest rooms and corridors.
  • Prepare and position complimentary fruit baskets in guest rooms as requested.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the room service menu.
  • Keep accurate summary sheets for each shift.
  • Log any complaints, delays, or guest feedback in the room service logbook.
  • Process doorknob breakfast and meal orders correctly through KOTs/Checks.
  • Maintain a courteous and warm demeanor when engaging with guests via phone.

Catering and Events (C&E) Support

  • Follow banquet event orders (BEOs) precisely.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of banquet and event areas.
  • Be knowledgeable of different event setup and service styles including coffee breaks, buffets, plated meals, and cocktail receptions.
  • Prepare mise-en-place and event setups efficiently.
  • Keep cleanliness and organization standards for event spaces.
  • Support outdoor catering events as required.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Tourism, or relevant hospitality qualifications is preferred.
  • Experience working in luxury hotels or upscale restaurants is advantageous.
  • Holding Food Safety & Hygiene certification is desirable.
  • Good command of English is essential; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long durations and safely lift service equipment.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent guest relation and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of food items, non-alcoholic beverages, and mocktails.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide tailored service.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, cashiering, POS systems, and hotel property management systems.
  • Self-driven with a positive, energetic attitude and strong initiative.
  • Professional appearance and grooming, adaptable to change, with good sales skills and social confidence.

Performance Expectations

  • Achieve high guest satisfaction scores (e.g., Medallia, Guest Love).
  • Maintain compliance with brand audits and quality assurance standards.
  • Consistently deliver team-oriented, quality service following SOPs and grooming guidelines.
