Role Overview
The Food and Beverage Attendant role is pivotal in ensuring guests enjoy memorable dining and hospitality. This position involves providing attentive, warm, and professional service across various food and beverage outlets, focusing on guest satisfaction and attention to detail. Applicants must have valid work rights in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests courteously and professionally to ensure comfort and recognition throughout their visit.
- Deliver attentive service by taking orders, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, and supporting seamless dining experiences.
- Acquire thorough knowledge of menu items, beverages, and hotel amenities to confidently respond to guest inquiries and offer recommendations.
- Anticipate guest needs to create personalized experiences that stand out.
- Handle guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
- Encourage additional sales naturally by promoting beverages, menu items, and hotel services.
- Assist with setup, upkeep, presentation, and closing duties in the outlets, adhering to hotel standards.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to manage busy periods effectively.
- Always comply with food and beverage procedures, safety standards, and service guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in hospitality roles such as food and beverage service, restaurants, cafés, bars, or banquets.
- Clear and confident communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest-centered service.
- Ability to maintain composure and organisation in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with adherence to service standards and procedures.
- Proactive mentality with confidence to take initiative and support teammates.
- Professional appearance consistent with luxury hotel expectations.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude willing to work across various food and beverage spaces.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
