About the Role

The Financial Crime department at SkyCity is seeking a Financial Crime Compliance Specialist to assist the Financial Crime Compliance Manager. This role involves monitoring compliance with financial crime prevention programs across SkyCity, collaborating closely with the business units and the financial crime team.

  • Offer independent and practical guidance to help the business understand and manage compliance risks related to financial crime.
  • Assist in interpreting regulatory demands and developing as well as updating relevant policies and procedures.
  • Take a proactive role in managing financial crime compliance and related risks.
  • Oversee and report on compliance adherence to SkyCity's Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) program in both New Zealand and Australia.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert responding to financial crime inquiries and supporting change initiatives.
  • Provide training sessions to increase business awareness of financial crime responsibilities.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance existing processes.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess 2-3 years of experience in AML/CFT within the Gaming, Financial Services, or Legal sectors.
  • Strong expertise in financial crime legislation, regulatory frameworks, and international best practices.
  • Proven capability in drafting compliance-related documents including policies, procedures, and guidance materials.
  • Skilled in interpreting and communicating statutory obligations, regulatory expectations, and compliance risks to facilitate well-informed organizational decisions.
  • Adept at simplifying complex technical information for a non-specialist audience.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable and confident in delivering presentations to groups.
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities concurrently.
