Eligibility and qualification
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications prescribed under UGC regulations and the relevant State Government orders. Eligibility differs by post.
Assistant Professor
For Assistant Professor posts, candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade where a grading system is used, in the relevant, allied, or concerned subject from an Indian university or an equivalent qualification from a recognized foreign university. In addition, candidates must have qualified NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or an equivalent test approved by UGC such as SLET/SET. Those awarded a Ph.D. in line with UGC M.Phil./Ph.D. regulations of 2009 or 2016 and subsequent amendments are exempt from NET/SLET/SET. Candidates who registered for a Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 are to be governed by the applicable then-existing ordinance/byelaws.
Associate Professor
For Associate Professor posts, the university requires a strong academic record, a Ph.D. in the relevant or allied discipline, a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent, and at least 8 years of teaching and/or research experience in an academic role equivalent to Assistant Professor in a university, college, accredited research institution, or industry. Candidates must also have at least 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a research score of 75 as per Appendix II, Table 2.
Professor
For Professor posts, applicants must be eminent scholars with a Ph.D. in the relevant or allied area and a record of high-quality published work. The role requires at least 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, a research score of 120 as per Appendix II, Table 2, and a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a university or college as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, and/or equivalent research experience at a university or national-level institution with evidence of guiding doctoral candidates. Alternatively, an outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in a relevant, allied, or applied discipline, substantial contributions supported by documentary proof, and 10 years of experience may also be considered.
Pay and fee details
The rationalized entry pay mentioned for the posts is Rs. 57,700 at Level 10 for Assistant Professor, Rs. 1,31,400 at Level 13A for Associate Professor, and Rs. 1,44,200 at Level 14 for Professor. The application fee is Rs. 1,500 for General category candidates and Rs. 1,000 for Reserved category candidates.
