Pines Living is looking for a full-time Facilities Coordinator to support its residential aged care home in Farrer, ACT. This role sits within a care environment focused on dignity, resident wellbeing, and strong teamwork across clinical and operational disciplines.

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in residential aged care, along with strong coordination skills, excellent communication, and the ability to balance several tasks and projects at once. A practical background in maintenance, solid problem-solving ability, and familiarity with safety and compliance expectations are also important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage suppliers and contractors, including preventive maintenance schedules, service agreement renewals, cost monitoring, and compliance checks such as insurance, police checks, WWVP, and other required documents.
  • Keep contractor and supplier records up to date.
  • Support new initiatives and special projects, including obtaining quotes and securing financial approval.
  • Carry out practical maintenance work within the limits of your skills and qualifications.
  • Help ensure the facility meets WHS, environmental, and legislative obligations.
  • Oversee ordering of stock and equipment such as cleaning supplies and aged care equipment.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the site through innovation, capital upgrades, and other enhancements.
  • Coordinate upkeep of ICT-related systems including security, CCTV, access control, air-conditioning, and CBUS lighting.
  • Identify environmental improvements that support resident wellbeing.
  • Prepare weekly minutes as needed for the Facilities Coordinator function.
  • Maintain the Facility Risk Register and MSDS Register.
  • Complete reporting tasks required under Aged Care Standards.
  • Support emergency management activities, including response actions and escalation planning.
  • Help develop and update policies and procedures that strengthen facility performance.
  • Contribute to senior-level reporting and regular team meetings.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance work is completed within required timeframes.
  • Carry out WHS and environmental audits when required.

Working Hours

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
