About the Role

City Facilities Management (SGP) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Handyperson to join their property management team in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. This full-time, onsite position is crucial for maintaining an exceptional resident experience within their Canberra portfolio. You will be an integral part of the property management team, assisting with apartment maintenance, general handyman duties, and makegoods.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess experience in tradesman assistance and be capable of performing a wide range of general services, preferably within the residential property industry. A positive, can-do attitude and a commitment to being part of a new team are essential. You will need the physical capability to perform duties such as general repairs (plumbing, electrical, painting, plastering, carpentry) and investigative work to identify potential issues. Strong communication skills are vital for interacting with residents and contractors from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and minor repairs for common area kitchens, BBQs, ironing facilities, and building lighting.
  • Adhere to operational procedures and standards to maximize resource efficiency.
  • Uphold the highest standards of maintenance, safety, and security at all times.
  • Attend daily morning meetings with the Manager to receive work orders and instructions.
  • Report any identified maintenance needs requiring external contractor attention to the Manager.
  • Respond promptly to urgent repair requests and issues.
  • Ensure all onsite work does not compromise existing warranties or guarantees.
  • Coordinate with and manage external tradespeople performing tasks onsite.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Commit to working 40 hours per fortnight.

Requirements

  • Must have completed a National Police Check within the last 3 months (at applicant's expense).
  • Possess unrestricted work rights in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Hold a current Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with residents and contractors.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks associated with handyman duties.
