Job description

Role overview

This position provides senior-level administrative support to the EVP, Chief Communications Officer and helps keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. The role is central to managing demanding schedules, supporting strategic work, and helping the executive balance professional and personal commitments in a fast-moving environment.

Reporting relationship

You will work closely with a member of the Senior Leadership Team: the EVP, Chief Communications Officer.

Key responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the executive calendar, keeping meetings current and ensuring agendas and pre-read materials are shared ahead of time.
  • Set up additional one-on-ones and informal check-ins, including coffee chats, to support connection across the team.
  • Make sure the right participants are invited to meetings and have the access and context they need.
  • Coordinate market and business travel end to end, including planning ahead with teammates to make trips as productive as possible.
  • Build and share itineraries that combine meetings, team connection time, market exploration, learning, exercise, and focused work.
  • Connect with team members before travel so time on location is used effectively and visits have clear direction.
  • Support work-life integration by protecting time for family, school, personal, and holiday commitments well in advance.
  • Use calendar planning to help maintain healthy balance, including reviewing timing, logistics, and break scheduling.
  • Manage the executive inbox through the established process so messages are prioritized and answered promptly.
  • Handle communications with care, accuracy, and strict confidentiality.
  • Partner with the Communications Leadership Team to plan leadership offsites, planning meetings, and talent sessions several times each year.
  • Coordinate event logistics, agendas, and follow-up actions to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage expense reporting and PTO approvals accurately and efficiently while staying aligned with company policy.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, comfortable handling ambiguity, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic corporate setting. This role also requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Accessibility and accommodations

Accommodation support is available during the interview process for candidates who need it because of a disability. Support may include screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible in-person interview locations, closed captioning, and other reasonable adjustments.

Location and work style

This is an onsite role based in Beaverton, Oregon.

Experience and qualifications

The role calls for a bachelor's degree in business or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. It also requires at least 10 years of administrative experience, including 5 or more years supporting a VP-level or higher executive in a matrixed corporate environment. Prior Nike experience is strongly preferred.

Additional expectations

The position may occasionally require work outside standard business hours. Experience with event planning is important, and experience with budget planning or proposal preparation is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, virtual meeting platforms, and AI productivity tools is valued; experience with Keynote is a plus but not mandatory.
