Job description
Position Summary
This role involves evaluating candidate responses for the International GCSE Global Citizenship (2017 Specification) following strict mark schemes and examination protocols. Marking is typically conducted digitally via ePEN from home for most subjects, though certain subjects still require traditional paper-based marking. Strong subject expertise is essential to ensure accurate application of mark schemes. Examiners receive a defined batch of scripts to assess.
Key Responsibilities
- Mark scripts accurately and consistently to uphold overall quality standards.
- Submit marked samples to Team Leaders within set deadlines.
- Comply with marking milestones and scheduled timelines.
- Complete all required administrative tasks as specified.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Possess at least one academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject within the last eight years, post qualification.
- Hold a degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Be a qualified teacher.
Competencies
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong time management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- High level of subject knowledge to rigorously apply the mark scheme.
Additional Information
- The marking period spans from May to July annually.
- Mandatory training sessions are conducted between May and June prior to marking.
