Job description
Role Overview
Our client based in the Galway Metropolitan Area is seeking a permanent Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and enhance their EHS initiatives across multiple facilities. This position involves managing compliance, continuous improvement, risk management, and team leadership within a manufacturing and pharmaceutical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and advance the EHS strategy alongside ongoing improvement programmes.
- Ensure adherence to EHS regulations and manage audits across various locations.
- Maintain and upgrade the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standards.
- Conduct risk assessments by identifying hazards and deploying appropriate controls.
- Lead and support a team of EHS professionals towards professional growth.
- Oversee occupational health programs, employee wellbeing, and ergonomic practices in the workplace.
- Manage emergency preparedness plans and response activities.
- Supervise incident investigations, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Level 8 degree in Health & Safety or Environmental related discipline is mandatory.
- A minimum of 8 years professional experience is required, ideally within manufacturing settings.
- At least 4 to 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments is essential.
- Proven ability in people management and team development is expected.
