Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fractional Vice President of Global Marketing to provide interim executive leadership during the current VP's maternity leave. This part-time role, averaging 20-25 hours weekly, ensures seamless leadership continuity across the Global Marketing domain. The individual will act as a strategic advisor, executive coach, and operational partner to seven senior marketing leaders overseeing New Product Development, Product Management, Creative Services, Communications, Marketing Operations, and Digital Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions with direct reports to enhance leadership capabilities.
- Guide strategic thinking, prioritization, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making within the team.
- Provide executive oversight on critical projects including global ecommerce transformation emphasizing content management systems, sales funnel optimization, and revenue growth.
- Support directors by addressing organizational and project challenges and maintaining momentum across strategic marketing initiatives.
- Review and improve marketing processes related to planning, resource management, governance, creative workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Perform a comprehensive evaluation of the Global Marketing structure, leadership competencies, role clarity, resource allocation, and succession planning.
- Deliver weekly executive summaries, highlight risks, escalate major decisions, and recommend enhancements in projects, personnel, and processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven background as a Vice President of Marketing, Chief Marketing Officer, or equivalent executive role in global marketing.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in multinational organizations.
- Deep expertise in digital marketing, ecommerce strategies, content management systems, and website governance.
- Strong understanding of digital customer journeys, conversion optimization, and sales funnel management.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and proficiency in data-driven marketing performance analysis.
- Preferred experience in health & wellness, consumer products, medical devices, or direct selling industries.
- Prior experience as a fractional executive or consultant is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English and capacity to navigate fast-paced environments managing multiple projects.
Work Schedule and Terms
- Contract duration: approximately 10–12 months.
- Time commitment: roughly 20–25 hours per week with flexibility.
- Must be available for regular overlap with European and North American business hours.
- Willingness to work up to two days weekly until 9:00 pm Irish time to engage with North American teams.
- Executive assistant support will be available for scheduling and administration.
Deliverables
- Weekly executive updates to the VP of Global Marketing.
- Leadership support for seven direct reports.
- Monthly project health reviews and executive oversight of ecommerce and marketing transformation initiatives.
- Comprehensive marketing function gap analysis and maturity assessment.
- Strategic recommendations on process improvements aligned with best practices.
- Final report summarizing insights, recommendations, and future priorities, plus a transition document before contract completion.
