About the Role
We are partnering with a globally recognized leader in chemical manufacturing to recruit an experienced Production Shift Supervisor for their high-volume facility located in Ballyfermot, Dublin 12. The role requires a 3rd level qualification in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Process Engineering, or related chemistry disciplines due to the technical complexity of the processes.
The successful candidate will work on a rotating 3-cycle shift pattern:
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday
- Evening Shift: Monday to Friday
- Night Shift: Monday to Thursday only
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all activities during production shifts to meet operational goals safely and efficiently.
- Ensure production schedules and manufacturing targets are consistently met with high safety and quality standards.
- Drive improvements in throughput, reduce downtime and waste, and enhance changeover processes.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and operational protocols.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Develop, motivate, and engage production teams for optimal performance.
- Collaborate with Planning, Quality, Warehousing, Engineering, and Process Excellence teams to fulfill site objectives.
- Monitor and report on production KPIs and daily operational performance.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of shift documentation, production records, and reports.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings.
- Support engineering, maintenance, and site services during shift operations.
- Participate in projects aimed at operational enhancements and manufacturing efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, BRC, or other regulated manufacturing standards when applicable.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering with chemical/process focus, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a regulated process manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of complex chemical manufacturing processes.
- Experience in sectors such as Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Food & Beverage, Brewing/Distilling, or GMP controlled manufacturing.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects; Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Good understanding of manufacturing KPIs and operational performance metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Aptitude for working in fast-paced, shift-based manufacturing settings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience is desirable.
- Health & Safety qualification and Project Management experience are advantageous.
