Role Overview
We invite expressions of interest for upcoming entry-level opportunities within our Merchandise Buying teams across Myer Group. These roles are ideal for those seeking to begin their career in retail buying. Positions may include Category Buyer Assistant and Supply Coordinator. These roles are vital in managing the journey of products from suppliers to stores and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Buyers, Product Managers, and Merchandise teams with daily category operations.
- Keep product data accurate, including pricing, promotions, attributes, and range documentation.
- Process purchase orders with correct pricing and documentation.
- Update purchase orders, delivery schedules, and essential buying tools for smooth workflows.
- Coordinate product samples across buying, marketing, online, and in-store activities to ensure timely availability.
- Collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to maintain seamless product information and flow from origin to store.
- Manage stock delivery coordination by tracking timelines, following up on updates, and resolving issues promptly.
- Support reporting, promotional activities, and administrative tasks such as trade reports, campaign assistance, and ongoing process improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, administration, or similar sectors.
- Strong administrative abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, confident in liaising with suppliers and internal departments.
- Effective organizational and time management capabilities to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Competent with systems and new software; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A customer-oriented and professional attitude.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to foster positive working relationships.
- Team-focused mindset with a proactive and can-do approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within merchandise buying offices, supply coordination, or fashion retail.
- Familiarity with CAD illustrations using Adobe software.
- A tertiary qualification in fashion, business, commerce, or related disciplines.
