Job description
About Canibuild
Canibuild is an innovative SaaS platform revolutionizing the residential construction industry by automating design, approval, and sales processes. Operating across Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States, Canibuild enables clients to instantly determine the feasibility of building on specific land plots. Supported by Australia's premier hedge fund, the company is experiencing rapid growth.
Role Purpose
As governmental bodies in the United States face increasing pressure to modernize permitting and approval procedures—due to legislative deadlines, modernization funding, and public demand for speed and transparency—Canibuild offers an AI-driven solution for backlog clearance. The platform is already operational with public-sector clients including major projects like LA County and rebuilding efforts after the Eaton fire. The demand is expanding, and this role aims to capture new government business nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, qualify, and manage the government client pipeline end-to-end, from initial contact through to contract signing, maintaining real-time insight into opportunities and buyer signals.
- Initiate proactive outreach primarily via phone calls, focusing on booking meetings and conducting product demonstrations with high activity and persistence.
- Navigate and utilize various public-sector procurement methods, including cooperative contracts, resellers, grants, and formal solicitations, enabling efficient and repeatable transactions.
- Engage directly with government stakeholders such as building and planning officials, procurement officers, executives, and budget decision makers, effectively representing Canibuild at industry events and conferences.
- Respond promptly and ethically to urgent, funded projects addressing modernization or rebuilding needs, prioritizing community benefits over opportunistic sales.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate meets the following critical qualifications:
- Proven success selling software solutions to building and planning departments with a deep understanding of their purchasing behaviors and budgeting processes; experience selling to adjacent government sectors does not suffice.
- Highly tech-savvy, able to independently conduct product demonstrations, quickly master new technology, and utilize AI tools daily to maintain a competitive edge.
- A proactive hunter mentality, preferring direct phone outreach over email, maintaining high call volumes and building pipelines from scratch.
Additionally, the candidate should:
- Demonstrate autonomy by devising and executing territory strategies without awaiting detailed instructions, adjusting dynamically to market feedback.
- Be fluent with public-sector procurement complexities including RFPs, RFIs, cooperative contracts, sole-source thresholds, and fiscal-year purchasing cycles.
- Project professionalism and credibility when interacting with government leadership while remaining hands-on in sales tracking and outbound activity.
- Uphold ethical standards around revolving-door regulations, limiting engagements with former officials to introductions and avoiding conflicts in procurement processes.
Preferred Attributes
- Established connections within government networks such as retired building or planning officials and chief building officers.
- Familiarity with HUD or housing-agency funding mechanisms.
- Experience launching new sales initiatives or building go-to-market strategies from the ground up.
Compensation and Work Conditions
- Competitive annual salary augmented by uncapped commission potential.
- Remote work arrangement based in the US, with expectations for travel to conferences and client jurisdictions.
- Applicants must possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
