Overview
This is a remote contract opportunity for an English (India) Recording Specialist. The role focuses on reviewing machine-produced transcriptions, refining them for naturalness and accuracy, and then recording the finalized text in a clear, expressive voice. The expected workload is 10 to 40 hours per week, and compensation is set at $30 to $40 per hour.
What you will do
- Review machine-generated English (India) transcripts and spot mistakes, mismatches, or awkward phrasing.
- Revise the text so it sounds fluent, natural, and aligned with native usage.
- Read the corrected transcript aloud and capture the audio using a laptop microphone in a quiet setting.
- Submit recordings that are clear, expressive, and compliant with project instructions.
- Keep every submission strong in audio quality and overall data accuracy.
- Work with the client team by sharing feedback on the recorded material and helping improve the data-collection workflow.
Requirements
- Strong command of English as used in India, including awareness of local speech patterns and idioms.
- Excellent written and spoken communication abilities, with an emphasis on precision and clarity.
- Ability to quickly identify and fix errors in auto-generated transcripts.
- Comfortable creating good-quality audio with a basic laptop microphone in a quiet environment.
- Careful, dependable, and able to follow technical instructions exactly.
