Role Overview

The Auckland CBD campus is seeking an English and Liberal Arts Teacher for the Pathways Link Programme. This is a full-time fixed-term role covering one term, starting as soon as possible and ending on Friday 18 September 2026. Immediate availability is preferred.

Teaching Scope

The position involves working with international EAL learners who have IELTS scores between 4.5 and 5.0. You will teach English and Liberal Arts subjects such as Media Studies, while also handling assessments and related course administration. The role also includes leading Whanau Classes that support social wellbeing and inclusion.

Key Duties

• Deliver English lessons to international students studying English as an additional language.
• Teach Liberal Arts content, including Media Studies, to the same cohort.
• Design and manage assessments, along with course-related administrative work.
• Run Whanau Classes with a focus on inclusion and student wellbeing.
• Monitor students’ academic progress and pastoral wellbeing.
• Work within the college’s academic and pastoral support systems.
• Escalate concerns about academic or wellbeing matters through the Learner Success Team for follow-up with parents and agents.
• Complete the administrative tasks connected to these responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

The college is looking for someone who works well in a team, contributes positively to the programme, and is highly organised. The ideal teacher plans carefully, manages time effectively, meets deadlines reliably, and earns strong student feedback through consistent teaching quality.

Required Qualifications

Applicants need a qualification that enables them to teach EAP to international learners, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Graduate Diploma in Teaching. A valid teaching certification from the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand is also required. Experience in an international student setting is preferred.
