Role Overview
This role offers the chance to support meaningful connection with staff and students by delivering important messaging through creative communication approaches across the Gold Coast region. Working collaboratively, you will develop and run engagement initiatives that help strengthen the relationship between TAFE Queensland and its staff and students.
The position reports to the Manager, Engagement & Communications. It is a permanent, full-time AO4 role based primarily at the Ashmore campus, with travel required across campuses in the Gold Coast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and carry out strategies that boost student engagement and active participation across TAFE Queensland Gold Coast, supporting a positive learning experience and better student outcomes.
- Develop and deliver internal staff communications, along with engagement activities such as events and surveys.
- Create and roll out a region-wide reward and recognition approach that strengthens the employee value proposition and supports the organisation’s position as an employer of choice.
- Carry out research and development tasks linked to business functions.
- Ensure daily work activities are aligned with operational needs.
- Help improve business processes and work practices.
- Promote and demonstrate an ethical, safe and healthy workplace that supports zero harm, wellbeing and sustainability best practice.
- Support transformation and cultural change by modelling the organisation’s values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.
Selection Criteria
- Ability to write clear, targeted and effective communication across a range of channels, including digital platforms.
- Strong planning ability and a careful, process-driven approach that reduces risk, supported by experience in event coordination and/or project management.
- Capability to develop and implement fresh engagement ideas for both staff and students.
- Strong client focus, with sound analytical and conceptual thinking that leads to results.
- Personal drive, enthusiasm and adaptability, with the ability to succeed in a fast-moving, demanding and evolving environment.
Mandatory Requirements
No mandatory qualifications are specified for this role. However, experience using digital communication tools, online event management systems, and drafting/editing digital communications for varied audiences will be well regarded.
