Job description

Role Overview

Join TikTok's rapidly expanding Global Legal team, which supports cutting-edge products and services worldwide. We seek a skilled employment lawyer to strengthen our EMEA Employment Law group, partnering closely with Human Resources and business units to provide strategic guidance and manage employment-related legal matters across the region. This role is based in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted legal advisor to HR and business teams across Ireland, the UK, and the broader EMEA area, guiding employment strategies, policies, and operational practices.
  • Provide in-depth counsel on all stages of the employment lifecycle including hiring, global employee mobility, internal investigations, terminations, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the global legal function to deliver cohesive strategic advice for regional and international initiatives.
  • Support the company's growth objectives by offering risk-sensitive legal solutions and fostering strong business partnerships.
  • Work jointly with HR to develop, review, and implement employment policies, agreements, and procedures ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Develop and conduct internal trainings on various employment law topics for employees and stakeholders.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Qualified to practice law in Ireland or the UK with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive background in employment law, gained either through reputable private practice firms or in-house roles.
  • Proficient in managing cross-border employment law challenges across different jurisdictions, including collective labor rights matters such as trade unions and works councils.
  • Experience providing advice relating to GDPR and collaborating with data privacy teams.
  • Exemplary judgment and ethics, strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear and concise legal writing.
  • Collaborative team player capable of partnering effectively with global legal and business teams.
  • Ability to handle diverse tasks and prioritize responsibilities efficiently.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous exposure to technology firms or rapidly growing startups.
  • Experience within large multinational corporate environments.
  • Knowledge in related fields such as data privacy, immigration, occupational health and safety, and pension matters.
