Role overview

This position is about guiding participants towards sustainable employment through personalised coaching, job placement support and continued follow-up. The role also involves building relationships with local employers to create job opportunities that match participants’ goals and needs.

The job is based close to home from the Airport West office, with travel to Gisborne when required.

Key duties

  • Deliver individualised coaching, employment guidance, placement assistance and ongoing support to participants.
  • Seek out and develop opportunities with local employers that align with participant goals.
  • Assess each client’s employment needs and circumstances to tailor support appropriately.
  • Work with employers to connect suitable talent with available opportunities.

What the organisation is seeking

  • Previous experience in employment services is highly valued.
  • Background in customer service, sales, contact centre work or recruitment is considered a strong advantage.
  • Clear communication, strong interpersonal ability and adaptability are important for success.
  • Good attention to detail, administrative capability and confidence using IT systems are required.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities is desirable.

Requirements and compliance

A valid Police Check and Working with Children Check must be completed before employment starts. The successful candidate will also need to create a myGovID so they can access government data relevant to the role.
