The organisation runs 4 creches and preschool services in Dublin, along with more than 60 onsite breakfast and afterschool care programmes nationwide.
Role overview
The Rathfarnham centre is seeking a qualified Childcare Practitioner / Early Years Educator to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. The ideal person will be caring, upbeat, dependable, and comfortable working collaboratively while representing Kids Inc values.
Key duties
- Build and maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging setting for children.
- Respond to children’s overall needs by observing their behaviour and interactions, noting their interests, and planning activities that extend their learning.
- Supervise, educate, and care for children while supporting their physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.
- Use meals and mealtimes as chances to encourage social learning and development.
- Track children’s development and nurture positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Keep the environment clean, safe, and well ordered in line with company health and safety standards and relevant regulations.

Candidate profile
Applicants should have a positive attitude, genuine care for children, flexibility, teamwork skills, a willingness to learn, and strong communication in English.
Qualifications and preferred experience
- A minimum QQI Level 5 childcare qualification, or another qualification recognised on the DCEDIY approved list.
- Fluent English and strong communication skills.
- Full flexibility to work and a strong team spirit.
- A positive outlook and a sincere interest in working with children.
- Adaptability and readiness to learn new skills.
- Previous experience in a creche or childcare setting is preferred.
- First Aid, Manual Handling, or Food Safety training is an advantage.
Additional requirements
Successful candidates must complete Garda Vetting and provide a valid police certificate if they have lived outside Ireland for more than 6 months since turning 18.
