Goodstart Early Learning is hiring an Early Childhood Teacher for its Berrin centre in Mount Gambier, South Australia. This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week. The role focuses on creating a high-quality early learning environment where children can develop, families feel connected, and teaching practice is intentional, creative, and responsive to each child’s needs.

Compensation and core offer

The pay range is $47.61 to $71.79 per hour, depending on qualification and experience. The role also comes with a salary package that is competitive with state primary school teacher rates. What you will do

In this position, you will use purposeful and energetic teaching approaches to encourage a love of learning in young children. You will help shape curriculum and classroom practice, strengthen relationships with families, and work closely with centre leadership to design, review, and deliver strong early learning programs. The role also includes mentoring and contributing to educational practice within the room.

About the centre

Goodstart Berrin is a newly built, purpose-designed centre with 107 places. It is positioned in a convenient and secure part of the community, near main roads, shops, and local schools. The centre places strong emphasis on building a warm, welcoming, community-focused environment and offers support for career development from a Centre Director with substantial sector experience.

Requirements

Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Master of Early Childhood qualification approved by ACECQA. A current South Australia Working with Children Check and First Aid qualification are required. Candidates must also hold active registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia. Those working toward a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood may be eligible for Special Authority to Teach if the relevant conditions are met. A Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed through the Geccko platform, is also required.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to qualified early childhood teachers as well as applicants who are new to the profession and seeking their first teaching role. Experience in a school or early learning environment is welcome, but it is not mandatory.
