Job description
Role Overview
As a Dispatch Agent within Swissport's night operations at Shannon Airport, you will be instrumental in managing the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft. Your responsibilities will include coordinating dispatch activities, ensuring effective communication with flight crew and relevant parties, and overseeing timely and secure flight departures.
Key Duties
- Prepare all required documentation for flight crews, including flight plans, load sheets, and fuel information.
- Accurately convey aircraft fuel and loading details to flight crew and load control teams, maintaining safety and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with ground personnel, flight operations, and airport authorities to ensure correct aircraft loading and compliance with procedures.
- Manage and prioritize tasks to facilitate efficient aircraft turnarounds from arrival to departure, ensuring adherence to schedules.
- Operate aerobridges and guidance systems for aircraft stands safely to support boarding and disembarkation processes.
- Drive and control airside vehicles such as cars, vans, and minibuses following airport safety protocols.
- Conduct aircraft weight and balance calculations as necessary, ensuring these meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Candidate Qualifications
- Prior experience in aircraft ground operations, ramp handling, or similar roles is a plus.
- Understanding of aircraft loading procedures, weight and balance principles, and relevant aviation safety standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Strong organizational abilities capable of prioritizing effectively in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as operational needs dictate.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and capability to operate airside vehicles in compliance with regulatory requirements.
