Role Overview
Dexterra Group is seeking a senior leader to oversee supply chain and distribution enablement within procurement. This position sits at the crossroads of operational execution, governance, systems, and sustainability, and will influence how the supply chain performs today and how it is designed for future growth.
The successful candidate will lead a developing team, strengthen enterprise procurement and procure-to-pay processes, support efficient distribution across the network, and advance ESG goals throughout the supplier base. The role is well suited to someone who enjoys creating structure, improving data quality, tightening controls, and building scalable supply chain solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Distribution strategy and operational leadership
- Create and implement distribution plans that support growth, customer needs, and financial targets.
- Improve the national distribution footprint, including warehouses, cross-docks, and third-party logistics partnerships, to increase reliability and efficiency.
- Raise service performance, lower costs, and build stronger network resilience.
- Help launch new clients and large contract mobilizations by delivering distribution models that can scale effectively.
- Manage multiple distribution sites and/or third-party logistics providers to ensure standard operating procedures are consistently followed.
- Track core measures such as service levels, fill rates, order accuracy, inventory turns, shrinkage, and transportation spend.
- Promote ongoing improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Procurement enablement and systems
- Own the procure-to-pay platform, catalog structure, and approval workflows, with attention to accuracy and user experience.
- Lead upgrades, integrations, automation, and data governance initiatives within procurement technology.
- Work with IT, Finance, and Operations to keep tools aligned, practical, and dependable.
- Create consistent procurement processes across a complex, multi-location organization.
Compliance, controls, and financial governance
- Design procurement compliance programs that reinforce preferred supplier use and policy adherence.
- Maintain controls around purchasing approvals, delegation of authority, and supplier onboarding.
- Support internal and external audits through strong records and clearly defined procedures.
- Manage rebate programs, pricing controls, invoice checks, and savings reporting in partnership with Finance.
Sustainability and ESG integration
- Advance supply chain sustainability efforts, including ethical sourcing, environmental performance, and supplier diversity.
- Oversee ESG reporting tied to procurement and supply chain activities.
- Help suppliers understand and meet sustainability and compliance expectations.
Data, reporting, and analytics
- Create and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and insights that support better decisions across categories and operations.
- Ensure procurement and distribution data remains accurate, consistent, and useful.
- Apply analytics to improve efficiency and strengthen compliance oversight.
Team leadership and collaboration
- Lead and coach a growing team across procure-to-pay operations, compliance, analytics, and sustainability.
- Provide direction, development, and structure as the function expands.
- Partner with Category Management, Operations, Finance, HSE, and Corporate Services to support program delivery.
- Bring clarity, disciplined processes, and alignment across teams.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Data Analytics, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in procurement operations, governance, supply chain enablement, analytics, or P2P systems.
- Experience in food industry supply chain operations is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated success leading transformation, system improvements, or governance initiatives in a multi-site setting.
- Strong knowledge of P2P and ERP platforms, including workflow design and automation.
- Advanced capability in analytics and data governance.
- Good understanding of audit requirements, internal controls, and compliance practices.
- Exposure to sustainability or ESG reporting is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes to business users.
- Well organized, detail-focused, and able to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Collaborative leadership approach with the ability to guide teams through change.
- Proven ability to create structure, improve clarity, and establish disciplined processes.
