Role summary
This permanent full-time cleaner position supports transit stations by keeping public areas clean, safe, and inviting. The role follows a five-shift weekly schedule based on operational needs.

Job classification: Full-Time Cleaner
Pay rate: $20.15 per hour, in line with the collective agreement
Weekly hours: 40 hours before breaks
Shift pattern: Five shifts per week
Shift timing: Afternoon, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Key duties
- Keep station entrances, concourses, platforms, and washrooms clean and disinfected.
- Carry out sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning, and cleaning of frequent-touch surfaces such as doors, railings, elevators, fare gates, and TVMs.
- Restock washroom supplies like toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap, and complete required checks and inspections.
- Operate auto-scrubbers and auto-sweepers when needed.
- Complete assigned work orders in priority order and report progress to quality assurance.
- Raise concerns about graffiti, damage, hazards, or other cleanliness issues, and remove them only after supervisor approval.
- Handle periodic deep-cleaning tasks, including machine scrubbing floors and detailed surface cleaning when assigned.
- Collect garbage, replace liners, and pick up litter inside and outside the facility.
