Overview
A premier global organization is seeking an experienced Director of Strategic Sourcing to lead and transform a vast multi-billion-dollar procurement division. This role offers a unique chance to develop strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and guide large-scale enterprise transformations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily procurement operations including sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
- Lead strategic sourcing for key materials like plastics, chemicals, resins, APIs, molded parts, packaging, and sterilization.
- Collaborate with diverse teams—Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, and Commercial—to assess procurement demands and uncover sourcing opportunities.
- Manage supplier partnerships ensuring consistent quality, value, and risk mitigation.
- Deploy procurement strategies aimed at enhancing cost effectiveness, efficiency, supply chain resilience, and innovation.
- Analyze market dynamics and supplier performance to drive continuous process improvements.
- Guide procurement teams in evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier adherence to agreements.
- Establish clear goals and strategic plans, providing leadership and mentoring to achieve objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Over 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain within complex global companies.
- Proven ability to lead and develop top-performing sourcing teams.
- Expertise in managing significant direct and/or indirect spending across various categories.
- Strong track record of crafting and implementing enterprise-wide sourcing strategies that deliver substantial business impact beyond mere cost reductions.
- Experience handling complex, high-value negotiations and nurturing executive-level supplier relationships.
