Job description

Position Overview

The Human Resources team at The Haverford Trust Company is tasked with implementing the firm's talent initiatives that align with its business objectives. Reporting directly to the VP of Human Resources, the Director of Talent & People Management plays a critical role in recruitment, onboarding, program development, and performance management. This role also involves optimizing HR operations through scalable systems, processes, and initiatives. The HR department collaborates closely with multiple team members and managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in shaping and executing the company's human resources strategy alongside the VP of Human Resources through constant innovation and improvement of HR programs across all employee lifecycle stages.
  • Drive talent acquisition by cultivating an extensive network to attract new employees, partnering with hiring managers to define roles, conduct interviews, assess candidates, and facilitate fair and legally compliant recruitment processes using tools such as behavioral assessments and selection software.
  • Enhance the onboarding experience by developing effective job training programs and overseeing initiatives like the Ambassador program to foster new hires' engagement and integration.
  • Manage and administer the firm's performance management system, supporting both managers and employees in performance and employee relations, while staying informed about motivation and engagement research to aid career pathing and promotion procedures.
  • Lead talent development efforts including internal and external training, leadership growth, retention strategies, mentoring programs, and succession planning to ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain compliance by regularly updating the Team Member Handbook and related policies, assisting with adherence to HR regulations and documentation standards.
  • Prepare and contribute to various HR reports to evaluate program effectiveness, identify workforce needs, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain physical readiness to engage in activities requiring mobility, stamina, and the ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds.

Working Hours and Location

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Employees are required to work onsite at the Radnor office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with eligibility to work from home up to two days per week.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, human resources, or related field is required; graduate studies preferred.
  • At least five years of progressive experience in HR or people management roles.
  • Familiarity with the investment sector is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience includes program evaluation, performance management, training managers, and employment law knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Workforce Now performance module, AON compensation tools, and Caliper by Talogy (certification a plus).
  • Strong diplomacy, objectivity, and decision-making skills based on analysis from multiple perspectives.
  • Passion for developing processes that reduce manual effort and scale with company growth.
