Overview
This role is offered on behalf of a partner company based in the Netherlands seeking a Director of Talent & People. The position provides an exciting chance to develop and expand the people function within a rapidly growing, technology-centered organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for directing talent strategy, managing people operations, and enhancing employee experience while constructing scalable systems that empower teams to excel.
Collaborating closely with executive leadership, the Director will significantly influence the organization's approach to attracting, developing, and retaining outstanding talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and continuously enhance a comprehensive Talent and People strategy that supports organizational growth through suitable structures, processes, and capabilities.
- Oversee company-wide talent acquisition strategies, workforce planning, and recruitment operations, focusing on improving hiring quality, speed, and predictability.
- Lead and cultivate the recruiting team, establishing scalable hiring processes across diverse functions and regions.
- Directly support senior-level recruitment initiatives by refining interviewing methods, candidate experience, and evaluation standards.
- Develop and maintain scalable people operations systems including onboarding/offboarding procedures, documentation, policies, and employee support mechanisms.
- Ensure a positive and clear employee experience throughout their lifecycle by defining roles, responsibilities, reporting lines, and expectations.
- Collaborate with leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, team architecture, and operational enhancements.
- Create and implement performance management, feedback loops, career progression, and retention initiatives to foster growth and engagement.
- Monitor organizational health through relevant people metrics, deliver insights, and proactively identify talent risks.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executives by recommending practical solutions and developing infrastructure for sustainable growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- Between 5 and 10+ years of leadership experience in Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Human Resources, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated success supporting organizations with over 100 employees, preferably within dynamic environments such as startups, agencies, or tech firms undergoing rapid scaling.
- Experience managing recruiting teams and comprehensive hiring processes.
- Strong knowledge of people operations in remote-first or globally distributed workplaces.
- Proven ability to build recruiting frameworks, onboarding systems, performance evaluation, and employee development programs.
- Experienced partner to founders or senior leadership in strategic talent decisions.
- Excellent judgment, decision-making skills, and capability to function effectively amid limited data and shifting priorities.
- Driven by ownership and proactive problem-solving with a focus on continual improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptable to fast-paced settings where building new systems and processes is central.
