Overview

This opportunity is on behalf of a partner company seeking a Director of Talent & People to be based in Romania, working fully remotely. The role presents a chance to lead and expand the people function within a rapidly growing technology-focused organization. The incumbent will own talent strategy, manage people operations, and drive employee experience enhancements while implementing scalable systems that empower teams to excel.

Working closely with the organization's executive leadership, you will shape how the company attracts, develops, and retains exceptional professionals. This position combines both strategic vision and hands-on involvement across recruitment, organizational development, and people-centric processes, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, teamwork, and innovation within a globally distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the overarching Talent and People strategy to support organizational growth by ensuring proper structure, processes, and capabilities are in place.
  • Lead the comprehensive talent acquisition plan, workforce planning, and manage recruiting operations to enhance hiring quality, speed, and predictability.
  • Oversee and grow the recruiting team by establishing scalable hiring processes across various departments and regions.
  • Directly assist in executive and leadership hiring initiatives by improving interview procedures, candidate experience, and assessment frameworks.
  • Create and sustain scalable people operations infrastructure covering onboarding, offboarding, documentation, policies, and employee support.
  • Enhance the employee lifecycle experience, clarifying roles, accountabilities, reporting structures, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, team structuring, and operational enhancements.
  • Design and implement performance management, feedback mechanisms, career development, and retention programs to boost employee engagement and growth.
  • Provide visibility into organizational health through people-related metrics, insights, and proactive talent risk identification.
  • Serve as a strategic collaborator with executives by delivering practical solutions and building infrastructure to support sustainable long-term growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to over 10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, People Operations, Human Resources, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting organizations with over 100 employees, preferably in high-growth startups, agencies, tech companies, or rapidly scaling environments.
  • Proven ability to lead recruitment teams and oversee end-to-end hiring operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of people operations within remote-first or globally distributed teams.
  • Experience constructing recruiting systems, onboarding programs, performance management frameworks, and employee development initiatives.
  • History of partnering directly with founders, executives, or senior leadership on strategic workforce decisions.
  • Strong organizational judgment and decision-making capability with adaptability to operate under uncertain and shifting priorities.
  • Proactive ownership and focus on execution, problem-solving, and continuous process enhancements.
  • Excellent communication skills for influencing stakeholders across all hierarchical levels.
  • Comfortable with dynamic, fast-paced environments where building new systems and procedures are core to the role.

Benefits

  • An attractive annual total compensation package ranging between $40,000 to $90,000 USD encompassing base salary, performance bonuses, and equity options.
  • Opportunity to work entirely remotely from your preferred location.
  • A significant leadership role to shape and build the people infrastructure in a fast-growing company.
  • A high degree of ownership, autonomy, and direct collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Influential position focused on workforce development, enriched employee experience, and driving business expansion.
  • Flexible, decentralized work culture founded on trust, accountability, and outcome orientation.
