Overview
This executive leadership role, based in the United States, is dedicated to directing strategic sourcing and procurement efforts that enhance supply chain robustness, operational excellence, and sustainable expansion. The Director will construct procurement frameworks, cultivate supplier relationships, and steer initiatives that significantly influence organizational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams focused on Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Operations to strengthen skills in supplier management, negotiation tactics, cost analysis, risk mitigation, and overall execution.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies, governance models, decision-making tools, and processes that optimize efficiency and scalability.
- Drive sourcing-related performance improvement projects encompassing cost reduction, inflation control, supplier influence, capital management, and supply risk mitigation.
- Create category and multi-year sourcing plans aligning with growth aims, sustainability goals, profitability margins, and uninterrupted supply needs.
- Forge and maintain strategic supplier partnerships, including direct sourcing frameworks, long-term alliances, regional supply chains, and innovative procurement arrangements.
- Oversee supplier performance via segmentation, scorecards, business reviews, and continuous development initiatives.
- Collaborate with leaders across finance, operations, quality, sustainability, trade, and innovation sectors to harmonize sourcing priorities with company objectives.
- Manage procurement processes covering purchasing workflows, purchase order management, demand forecasting, inventory control, and regulatory compliance.
- Establish reporting mechanisms and key performance indicators to track procurement efficacy, supplier dependability, quality standards, cost management, and operational improvements.
- Provide market insights, commodity analyses, risk evaluations, and strategic advice to support executive-level decisions.
- Champion change management and continuous improvement programs to adapt to organizational growth.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory, quality, sustainability, and responsible sourcing standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 10 years of progressive leadership experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, ideally within the food, consumer packaged goods, or comparable sectors.
- Proven success in leading and developing high-performing procurement teams.
- Expertise in supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, contract administration, and cost management.
- Experience in organic ingredient procurement, agricultural supply chains, or sustainability-focused sourcing is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of procurement workflows, supply chain risk, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Familiarity with MRP systems and data-driven operational enhancement.
- Track record of transforming procurement functions through change leadership and scalable processes.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, organic certification, and compliance standards preferred.
- Ability to influence executive management and collaborate across various business units.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving aptitude, effective communication, and decisiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory; advanced degrees are favored.
- Capacity to perform well in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and mission-oriented setting.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for company events and business requirements.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
