Job description

Role overview

This remote leadership position focuses on growing and managing a distributed network of independent contractors that supports investigative and research work. The role centers on strengthening contractor operations, improving quality control, and building scalable processes that support business growth. You will also work closely with a small internal team, leadership, Product, and Technology partners to make contractor workflows more efficient and more automated.

The position carries a target salary of $85,000 to $95,000, with room for flexibility.

What you will do

  • Create and run the strategy for attracting, onboarding, engaging, and keeping a strong contractor network.
  • Design contractor programs that can scale with business growth, client needs, and expansion into new geographies.
  • Handle sourcing, screening, qualification, and selection of contractors, making sure the network has the right expertise, capacity, and market coverage.
  • Own the end-to-end contractor journey, including onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management.
  • Keep contractor documentation, operating standards, and policy materials up to date.
  • Define and track KPIs, SLAs, quality measures, and productivity benchmarks for contractors.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards that show trends across contractor, product, and regional performance.
  • Work with investigative leadership to maintain quality standards and drive improvements in report quality, consistency, and turnaround time.
  • Promote the use of technology, automation, and AI-based tools, partnering with Product and Technology teams to improve systems, workflows, contractor engagement, productivity, quality management, and scalability.
  • Use analytics and operational insights to support workforce planning, performance improvement, and strategic decisions.
  • Support a distributed contractor marketplace by responding to contractor questions and routing work efficiently based on skill set and availability.
  • Help streamline manual processes such as contractor outreach and billing coordination.

Additional information
