Job description
Role Overview
eMed Healthcare UK is pioneering a transformative approach to at-home care by integrating physical and digital technologies to reduce costs, increase capacity, and enhance quality. The focus centers on a platform managing chronic conditions remotely, with an emphasis on GLP-1 weight management and related brands tailored for women and men. As a key NHS partner in the UK, the company is actively seeking to expand internationally. The Director of Special Projects & International Growth will work closely with the Managing Director, flexibly handling priority projects, particularly developing the UK B2B/employer channel and preparing for global market entry. This senior role demands high autonomy and adaptability as priorities may change.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development and expansion of eMed's UK B2B channel, translating existing commercial and pricing foundations into a functional employer/benefits offering.
- Create and implement a go-to-market plan targeting brokers, insurers, and direct employer connections.
- Champion a regulatory-first strategy for entering new international markets, ensuring compliance with the highest standards before launch.
- Oversee operational readiness across all global markets, including regulatory approval, partnership agreements, company incorporation, and launch preparations.
- Manage and coordinate with country managers and cross-departmental teams covering regulatory, clinical, pharmacy, and logistics functions.
- Detect and escalate obstacles hindering market entry such as device approvals or regulatory constraints, and resolve partner sourcing issues.
- Provide comprehensive reports on market readiness and challenges to leadership regularly.
- Take ownership of urgent high-level initiatives that arise, covering commercial, operational, or strategic domains.
- Serve as a senior representative for the Managing Director in discussions with partners, regulators, and internal teams.
- Adapt swiftly between varied workstreams as priorities evolve, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Deliver regular updates to executive leadership and board members on active priorities.
- Expand and guide a small team as particular projects increase in scale.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven senior leadership background at director level or equivalent within digital health, healthcare services, or similarly regulated and complex industries.
- Versatile generalist with the ability to seamlessly manage commercial, operational, and strategic tasks concurrently without loss of momentum.
- Experience formulating and scaling B2B or employer-focused commercial propositions, preferably in health, insurance, or employee benefits sectors.
- Expertise working across multiple international regulatory frameworks, ideally in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
- Strong commercial skills, including managing pricing strategies, partner negotiations, and driving business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, adept at coordinating multiple country managers, external collaborators, and executive-level relationships simultaneously.
- Comfortable operating within a dynamic, fast-changing, and high-growth environment, handling ambiguity effectively.
- Willingness and ability to undertake international travel as required.
- Desirable: existing connections with UK employer benefits brokers or insurers and experience interacting with healthcare regulatory bodies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary package reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.
- Highly visible position working closely with the Managing Director on key growth and strategic initiatives.
- Entitlement to 25 days of paid holiday annually.
- Provision of breakfast and snacks throughout the workday.
- Health care cash plan encompassing physiotherapy, digital clinical consultations, and wellbeing support for employees and their families.
- Life insurance coverage valued at four times the annual salary.
- Pension plan with employer contributions matched up to 5%.
- Access to a cycle-to-work scheme promoting sustainable commuting.
