Overview

The Director of Sales is responsible for achieving revenue goals and maintaining accountability over targeted objectives within the assigned region. This leadership role involves developing and guiding a new business sales team by offering mentorship, direction, and comprehensive training. The individual leads efforts to identify business opportunities and delivers practical solutions tailored to customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement both short-term and long-term sales strategies in collaboration with Senior Management and direct teams to drive profitability and organizational expansion.
  • Establish sales policies, goals, and plans aimed at expanding the company's market share and penetrating new markets.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor sales professionals to enhance performance and outcomes.
  • Assess software tools and business partnerships to boost sales force efficiency.
  • Demonstrate proven methods and evidence of developing Account Executives.
  • Understand and apply complex pricing frameworks and financial models in decision-making.
  • Contribute to and oversee the preparation and delivery of professional proposals and service solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to support successful sales outcomes.
  • Maintain extensive industry knowledge and networks to advance regional sales efforts.
  • Develop and recommend pricing strategies based on market data and competitive intelligence.
  • Ensure timely gathering and sharing of market and competitor insights for strategic advantage.
  • Lead negotiations and finalize contracts for new clients and renewals.
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly sales activities effectively to meet targets.
  • Achieve and surpass revenue and profit goals consistently.
  • Report sales goals, achievements, strategies, and financial outcomes to senior management.
  • Conduct timely employee performance appraisals as per company standards.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Regional Vice President, Sales.
  • Required ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally.
  • Conduct impactful client meetings both in person and virtually.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and mental agility to perform responsibilities efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree mandatory; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of sales experience with at least 7 years in sales management or leadership roles.
  • Experience in industries providing technology solutions, complex B2B sales, and managing long sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated record of winning multi-million dollar deals with extended sales processes.
  • Consistently exceeded revenue and activity targets among teams.
  • Knowledgeable in sales management and leadership techniques.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with video conferencing tools like Teams.
  • Capable of managing difficult clients, employees, and challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Strong multitasking ability managing several projects and tight deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret visual processes and data into coherent written communication.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Advanced skills ensuring quality and production standards compliance.
  • Expertise in motivating, coaching, and training staff effectively.
  • Superior customer service aptitude with professional demeanor.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, record-keeping, and time management capabilities.
  • Creative thinking and performance excellence.
  • Clear criminal background check status.
  • Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Deep knowledge of current industry standards in mail, copy, fax, reception, and related services.
  • Strong team-oriented business approach.
