Overview
The Sales & Marketing Director is tasked with leading Hustler Marketing's entire revenue generation efforts by combining leadership of both sales and marketing into a cohesive department. This role demands strategic development, execution, and refinement of plans that yield qualified leads, enhance sales performance, and drive consistent revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the sales and marketing funnel, progressing from initial client contact through to deal closure.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies aligned with the company’s growth goals.
- Audit existing sales and marketing procedures to pinpoint inefficiencies and areas for enhancement, then lead initiatives to improve them.
- Construct scalable lead generation systems spanning SEO, outbound sales, partnerships, referrals, paid acquisition, content marketing, and other channels.
- Secure a steady influx of qualified leads that supports revenue objectives.
- Optimize sales processes, pipeline management, lead qualification, and conversion rates to bolster performance.
- Lead critical sales projects personally during the initial rebuilding phase, and engage in high-value deal closures as needed.
- Recruit, build, and manage high-performing sales and marketing teams while overseeing budgets, hiring, and resource distribution.
- Define and monitor KPIs and metrics with comprehensive reporting across both departments.
- Collaborate closely with the Service Department and internal stakeholders to align client expectations and improve onboarding and client success.
- Identify market expansion opportunities, strategic partnerships, and drive innovative growth initiatives.
- Keep abreast of evolving ecommerce and marketing trends to sustain competitive advantage.
- Create scalable operational processes and nurture a culture emphasizing accountability and commercial excellence.
- Participate in leadership meetings contributing to company-wide strategy.
- Report directly to company leadership while supporting other departments with commercial insights.
Requirements
- Minimum five years’ experience leading sales, marketing, or revenue teams with accountable commercial outcomes.
- Proven track record of building and scaling effective sales and marketing units.
- Experience working in digital marketing agencies or SaaS firms targeting ecommerce clients.
- Expertise generating qualified leads via various channels including SEO, partnerships, outbound sales, and content marketing.
- Demonstrable success in closing significant sales and managing complex sales pipelines.
- Strong analytic skills with ability to interpret data and optimize acquisition funnels.
- Competence in managing budgets, hiring, resource allocation, and evaluating operational efficiency.
- Excellent leadership and remote team management capabilities.
- Fluency in English with superior communication skills.
- Capability to independently manage tasks while collaborating effectively in distributed teams.
- Experience with retention marketing products such as Email Marketing, SMS Marketing, or UGC services favored.
- Familiarity with ecommerce marketing tools like Klaviyo and connections in ecommerce or DTC sectors are advantages.
- Strong strategic thinking alongside problem-solving and decision-making prowess.
- Availability during office hours (Monday to Friday, 3-6 PM Barcelona time) with reliable internet and suitable hardware for virtual meetings.
- Openness to receiving and delivering constructive feedback.
Additional Terms
- Full-time role averaging 140 hours monthly with flexible remote schedule.
- Contractor status upon signing a non-disclosure agreement.
- Exclusivity clause restricting similar concurrent roles during employment.
- Initial trial and adaptation period of two months followed by a 30-day notice period for resignation.
- Regular performance reviews between 3 to 12 months after starting.
- Senior leadership position with direct control over sales and marketing strategy, budget, and staffing.
