Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Performance Marketing to design and lead innovative performance marketing strategies. This influential role will drive how potential clients discover and interact with our edtech offerings, directly impacting client acquisition and revenue targets. The role involves testing emerging platforms and methods to maintain a competitive edge in a fast-changing digital environment. You will build a robust, data-driven growth system to attract, activate, and engage clients through high-performance paid media, encompassing experimental approaches, conversion optimization, and new acquisition techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a direct-to-consumer growth strategy across platforms including Google Ads, Meta, and TikTok Ads, with capability to engage hands-on as needed.
- Constantly test and identify new marketing channels to fuel growth.
- Optimize campaigns, audiences, and creatives to maximize return on ad spend (ROAS).
- Lead A/B testing, cohort analyses, and customer segmentation to enhance campaign outcomes.
- Utilize SQL and Python for in-depth analytics, predictive modeling, and customer insight generation.
- Create forecasting models and manage performance reporting across all marketing funnels.
- Collaborate with data teams to develop attribution models assessing channel effectiveness.
- Coordinate with other marketing heads to integrate consumer behavioral trends across channels.
- Implement data-driven plans with full-funnel KPIs aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze marketing metrics to evaluate campaign success, optimize budgeting, and report to stakeholders.
- Serve as a marketing analytics and attribution thought leader, promoting data-based decisions enterprise-wide.
- Drive conversion rate optimization (CRO) initiatives enhancing client engagement and ROI.
- Establish strong collaborations with product, customer experience, technology, and sales leadership.
- Foster a culture encouraging risk-taking, experimentation, iteration, and prompt execution within the team.
- Act as a key marketing voice partnering with founders to balance revenue goals and brand integrity while prioritizing customers.
- Make principled decisions influencing cross-functional teams to achieve performance objectives.
- Monitor industry competitors and best practices to maintain digital marketing leadership.
- Oversee junior team members ensuring technologies and campaigns align with business goals.
Candidate Profile
- Typically has over six years of proven experience in performance marketing with a strong record of measurable achievements.
- Expertise in paid search, paid social, and comprehensive knowledge of various digital marketing channels and best practices.
- Hands-on proficiency with advertising platforms including Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.
- Strong data analytical abilities to interpret results and make decisions optimized for customer acquisition cost (CAC) and ROAS.
- Experience with marketing automation and attribution technologies.
- Proficient in SQL and Python for advanced data manipulation and insights.
- Comfortable using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics to extract and utilize data effectively.
- Exceptional problem solver with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Outstanding project management capabilities managing multiple simultaneous marketing campaigns with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills capable of clearly presenting complex information.
- Familiarity with marketing automation tools and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
