Role Overview
The Director of Operations will oversee a 13-person team, leading the development of critical systems to support scaling GovAI’s workforce from 50 to over 100 employees. This role encompasses responsibility for finance, human resources, program management, and high-level strategic projects aligned with GovAI’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and expand the operations team from 13 to accommodate growth to 100+ employees within two years.
- Establish comprehensive operational infrastructure covering finance, HR, legal compliance, and administration to efficiently process over 20,000 fellowship applications annually.
- Partner with executive leadership to craft and implement organizational strategies and lead priority initiatives.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Track record of scaling operations in fast-growing, mission-focused organizations, especially managing growth from around 50 to 100+ staff.
- Broad expertise in finance, HR, legal, and complex program administration, particularly for sizable talent programs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in nurturing productive team environments and mentoring leaders under dynamic, purpose-driven conditions.
