About the Opportunity

A fast-growing professional services organization backed by private equity is hiring a Director of Operations to support scale, strengthen execution, and raise the bar on operational performance across the company. The business has expanded through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, and it continues to invest in its people, processes, and infrastructure.

This is a highly visible leadership position that partners closely with executive leadership to streamline operations, improve business results, and put scalable systems in place to support the next stage of growth.

The Role

In this role, you will oversee core day-to-day operations while continuously looking for ways to improve efficiency, profitability, and the quality of service delivered to clients. Success in this position requires comfort in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, along with a strong history of improving processes and leading initiatives across functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set operational direction and ensure execution across the organization.
  • Create and roll out processes, policies, and workflows that can scale with the business.
  • Define key performance indicators and use them to monitor results and accountability.
  • Work with executive leaders on major growth and expansion priorities.
  • Lead efficiency and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with teams across finance, sales, HR, and service delivery.
  • Strengthen workforce planning, capacity management, and utilization.
  • Oversee operational integration tied to acquisitions and other growth efforts.
  • Evaluate and introduce technology tools that improve operational performance.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop strong teams.
  • Promote a culture focused on accountability, ongoing improvement, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience leading operations.
  • Background in professional services, consulting, business services, or technology-enabled services is needed.
  • Prior experience in a private equity-backed company is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive operational change and scale organizations.
  • Strong understanding of finance and business operations.
  • Experience building and managing KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Analytical mindset with a practical, hands-on approach to solving problems.
