Job description
Position Summary
Jam+ is seeking a commercially driven builder who will actively create new revenue across its ecommerce businesses. This position is very hands-on: the person in the role should be comfortable opening doors directly, making outbound calls, using referrals, testing new selling approaches, and carrying opportunities from concept through meetings, pilots, and ultimately revenue.
The role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing new DTC and ecommerce-adjacent growth opportunities while also guiding channel expansion and performance. That includes strategic alliances, white-label platform opportunities, procurement relationships, vertical sales programs, and fresh outbound sales motions. You will work closely with the CEO and are expected to move quickly, think creatively, and take strong ownership.
Performance will be judged by revenue growth, signed partnerships, qualified pipeline, sales team effectiveness, and channel results.
Core Mission
Build new revenue by developing partnerships, opening access to new customer groups, energizing the sales team, managing channel growth, and finding inventive ways to expand Jam+'s ecommerce businesses beyond standard site traffic and paid media.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new revenue by building and managing a pipeline of strategic partnerships, vertical sales opportunities, and commercial programs, moving rapidly from concept to outreach to pilot to revenue.
- Design practical business cases for new opportunities, weighing revenue, margin, effort, and timing.
- Rank opportunities by speed to revenue, strategic importance, and scalability.
- Strengthen the sales function by introducing a more assertive outbound approach, with clear KPIs, scripts, and accountability.
- Personally drive high-value outreach and set the pace for the team through urgency and consistency.
- Evaluate the current sales team and advise on changes to structure, process, and incentives.
- Improve how inbound leads, quotes, and dormant accounts are converted into business.
- Own and grow active partnership deals, while identifying new companies, platforms, and communities for co-marketing, referrals, white-label, or embedded commerce opportunities.
- Negotiate terms in collaboration with the CEO and cross-functional leaders.
- Build trusted relationships with senior external stakeholders and turn those relationships into signed, revenue-producing outcomes.
- Identify niche and vertical markets where JAM can win with focused outreach and repeatable sales playbooks.
- Develop testable campaigns for segments such as associations, schools, procurement groups, and nonprofits.
- Work with ecommerce and creative teams on offers, landing pages, and supporting materials.
- Partner with Ecommerce, Technology, Operations, Finance, and CX to ensure new opportunities are viable, supported, and profitable.
- Align on site experience, pricing, and margin before launching new programs.
- Use customer feedback to surface pain points and repeat-purchase opportunities.
- Own a clear pipeline and revenue dashboard and provide regular updates to the CEO on activity, signed deals, and revenue impact.
- Track leading indicators such as outreach, meetings, and pilots, along with actual results.
- Continuously refine the approach based on what is working.
What Success Looks Like
- Within 30 days: strong understanding of the business, sales team, and channel dynamics; a prioritized target list; outbound outreach underway.
- Within 60 to 90 days: a disciplined outbound rhythm with clear KPIs; active conversations with high-potential partners; at least one or two pilots launched or in progress.
- Within 6 months: measurable pipeline and early revenue from new partnerships, verticals, or channels; the first repeatable playbooks taking shape.
- Within 12 months: meaningful incremental revenue and a scalable pipeline that keeps growing beyond the first year.
Ideal Candidate
You should be an ambitious, entrepreneurial builder who genuinely enjoys creating revenue from nothing rather than inheriting an existing book of business. You should stay effective in ambiguity, feel comfortable operating without a playbook, and lean toward action over over-analysis. You know how to pick up the phone, convert a cold introduction into a meeting, maintain momentum through a long sales cycle, and close the deal.
You can move comfortably between very different environments in the same day: a senior strategic-partner meeting, a cold call into a procurement office, a scrappy vertical test campaign, a deep review of channel performance data, and a direct conversation with your own sales team about raising standards.
You bring strong instincts in sales and business development, genuine commercial creativity, and enough working knowledge of ecommerce fundamentals — such as partnerships, sales, channels, landing pages, customer experience, and repeat purchase behavior — to connect the dots and spot the next opportunity.
Required Experience & Skills
Must-haves
- Demonstrated ability to generate revenue from zero through outbound sales, business development, partnerships, or new-market expansion.
- Readiness to personally prospect and lead outreach efforts.
- Capability to manage, reset, or improve a sales team.
- Sound commercial judgment around revenue, margin, timing, and effort.
- Entrepreneurial urgency and comfort working without a perfect plan.
Strong plus
- Background in print-on-demand, office products, ecommerce, shipping and logistics, promotional products, or B2B ecommerce.
- Working familiarity with ecommerce metrics such as CAC, LTV, AOV, and contribution margin.
- Existing relevant relationships in adjacent markets or in channel/procurement environments.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a conventional marketing role. It is not focused on day-to-day site management or marketplace operations. It is also not suitable for someone who wants to manage from a distance without personally creating momentum. The position is for someone who wants to build, sell, test, hustle, and produce measurable new revenue.
Benefits
Jam+ provides a competitive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and generous paid time off to support both professional and personal well-being.
