About the Role
The Director of Marketing & Fan Experience plays a pivotal role in creating and implementing strategic marketing campaigns, fan engagement programs, and revenue-enhancing initiatives that support the University of South Carolina Athletics Department. This position is dedicated to strengthening the Gamecock Athletics brand, boosting attendance and ticket sales, fostering active community involvement, and crafting innovative experiences for fans that contribute to the department's success.
Key Responsibilities
This director serves as the primary marketing liaison for women's basketball and oversees community outreach efforts, non-ticketed sports, and revenue-driving events. Responsibilities also include supporting goals related to fan development, attendance growth, community participation, and revenue enhancement while nurturing relationships to raise the visibility and profile of Gamecock Athletics statewide.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of three years of related work experience. Equivalent combinations of certifications, training, education, and experience will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates have a master’s degree in marketing, sport management, communications, business administration, public relations, or related disciplines. Experience is desirable in Division I NCAA athletics—especially within Power Four conferences—and collaboration with multimedia rights partners, ticketing operations, communications, and creative teams. Proficiency in budget oversight, strategic planning, and departmental management is also favored.
