A medium-sized engineering and manufacturing firm with around 100 employees worldwide focused on designing and producing complex mechanical systems for a global clientele is expanding its leadership team.
Role Overview
The company is seeking a Director of Information Technology to serve as the principal technology executive overseeing enterprise systems, IT infrastructure, and international IT operations. This position demands a proactive leader able to simultaneously manage daily IT tasks and develop strategic processes and scalable systems suitable for a growing multinational organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct the internal coordination of the company's IFS ERP system implementation, partnering effectively with external implementation teams and senior leadership.
- Ensure that the ERP solution supports manufacturing, distribution, and field service activities and establish sustainable governance and support structures for enterprise systems.
- Supervise IT operations across sites in Europe and North America, maintaining secure, dependable systems and fostering collaboration with engineering, production, and international partners.
- Manage core IT infrastructure, including networks, enterprise applications, and cloud platforms, overseeing the Managed Service Provider to guarantee system reliability and cybersecurity preparedness.
- Lead the internal IT team and contractors, creating processes and structures that promote operational maturity and support future organizational growth.
- Align IT strategies with business goals, driving technological improvements that enhance efficiency across engineering, manufacturing, and service functions.
Required Qualifications
- Over 10 years of rising responsibility in IT leadership positions.
- Experience in managing multi-location and international IT environments.
- A strong hands-on leadership approach balancing execution with strategic planning.
- Expertise in managing enterprise systems, infrastructure, and vendor relationships.
- Professional background in manufacturing, distribution, or field service sectors.
