Position Overview
The Director of Inflight Training & Standards will manage the entire inflight training division, including new hire and recurrent flight attendant programs. This role ensures compliance with FAA and TSA rules, maintains regulatory relationships, and oversees training quality and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a diverse team encompassing inflight managers, instructors, curriculum developers, and support staff.
- Provide strategic oversight for inflight safety, training, and standards, ensuring alignment with FAA guidelines and company goals for safety and customer service.
- Lead design and delivery of inflight training at multiple sites, maintaining conformity to regulatory, safety, and guest experience criteria.
- Craft and implement both short- and long-term strategies for learning design, regulatory compliance training, eLearning development, and technology-enhanced learning tools.
- Ensure flight attendant regulatory training is approved and integrated into initial, recurrent, and requalification programs, including appropriate recordkeeping.
- Coordinate with other training leaders to maintain consistency across programs and support corporate objectives alongside regulatory demands.
- Oversee inflight records and training scheduling, ensuring accurate qualification tracking, planning, compliance, and documentation.
- Direct audit preparedness activities, including IOSA, FAA inspections, internal audits, investigations, and corrective programs.
- Act as the primary contact for FAA and other regulatory bodies regarding compliance matters in inflight training, safety, and standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments (Airport Services, Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Crew Services) and external partners such as FAA and OSHA, offering guidance on best practices and operational efficiencies.
- Stay current with industry advances and emerging trends in training techniques, technologies, and instructional methods to continuously improve the curriculum.
- Manage the inflight training budget, organizational structure, workforce plans, and project expenses.
- Lead safety debriefs and reviews to identify risks, drive improvements, and reinforce operational safety.
- Provide leadership concerning performance management and disciplinary actions for inflight training staff and trainees, including releases and reassignments.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, or equivalent experience.
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience managing large and diverse teams.
- At least three years working as a flight attendant.
- Minimum of two years in an inflight training leadership role.
- Expertise in adult learning principles, professional development, instructional design, and curriculum development.
- Deep understanding of FAA regulations, especially Part 121 inflight operations, FARs, and FAA guidance.
- Capability to attend, pass, and maintain Breeze flight attendant training requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and possession of a valid passport.
- Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug screening, TSA fingerprint and background checks, and a 10-year employment background verification.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Knowledge of airline operations disciplines and their interactions with inflight management.
- Familiarity with FAA, DOT, TSA, and other agency functions relative to inflight operations.
- Five or more years of experience in inflight training and/or standards roles.
- Strong professional development, coaching, and counseling capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication across diverse groups.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions effectively.
- Self-motivated with initiative, creativity, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- High performance orientation, with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining adaptability.

- Experienced in working cross-functionally within various organizational levels and teams.
