Role Overview

The Director of HR for Learning, Development, and Organizational Effectiveness leads enterprise-wide initiatives that foster talent growth, operational excellence, and enhanced employee experience aligned with business objectives. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, this position is pivotal in advancing learning strategies and ensuring HR operational consistency through robust process and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the EVP of HR to shape and implement strategies around learning, leadership development, talent management, and organizational efficiency.
  • Design and implement diverse training programs including onboarding, leadership, compliance, technical skills, and professional growth using modalities such as in-person, virtual, and self-paced methods.
  • Develop comprehensive learning curricula, competency frameworks, career pathways, and assess program impact by linking learning outcomes to business results.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance organizational culture, promote inclusion, engagement, collaboration, and overall effectiveness.
  • Manage talent-related processes like succession planning, leadership pipelines, career mapping, talent reviews, workforce planning, and development plans.
  • Work alongside HR business partners and management to identify capability gaps and deploy targeted development strategies.
  • Standardize and continuously refine HR procedures, documentation, and workflows to enhance compliance, efficiency, and quality.
  • Oversee large-scale HR technology projects including HRIS, LMS, performance and talent management system deployments.
  • Guide change management efforts through strategic planning, communication, stakeholder engagement, and adoption activities for business and technological transformations.
  • Support leadership in organizational design, effectiveness improvement, employee growth, and cultivation of an inclusive high-performing environment.
  • Establish, track, and analyze KPIs and dashboards to monitor learning impact, workforce engagement, talent progression, succession readiness, and organizational health.

  • Experienced in implementing complex HR technology and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Solid foundation in instructional design, adult education principles, organizational development, and strategic talent management.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including facilitation, coaching, and presentation capabilities.
  • Proven influence and leadership in collaborative contexts to achieve desired results.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, strategic planning, organization, and project management skills.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in Human Resources.
  • At least 2 years in roles with significant responsibility covering learning and development, organizational effectiveness, or talent management.
  • Experience working in organizations with sizable non-exempt workforces, ideally within matrixed, multi-site environments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range from $110,000 to $130,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications.
