About Protect Group
Protect Group is dedicated to elevating customer experiences and driving additional revenues for businesses by leveraging advanced technology solutions. Since its inception in 2016, the company has expanded rapidly, partnering with over 400 enterprises across more than 75 countries and operating out of 12 international offices. Their AI-powered widget seamlessly integrates with online booking and sales platforms, enhancing customer satisfaction and ancillary sales with minimal upfront investment. A culture of innovation and collaboration underpins the company’s mission to maintain a competitive edge in its markets.
Role Overview
This role represents a unique chance to build and lead Protect Group's presence within the North American market. As the primary representative for the US and Canada, the Director of Business Development will generate new revenue streams by leveraging personal networks, establishing channel partnerships, and engaging in focused outreach. This position demands proactive pipeline generation, negotiation prowess, and the capacity to manage partnerships across sectors including travel, ticketing, events, transportation, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a sales pipeline using existing contacts and fresh prospecting strategies beyond traditional cold emails and social media approaches.
- Represent the company at international conferences and industry events throughout North America.
- Deliver presentations and pitches via video conferencing or face-to-face meetings, then collaborate with finance to develop commercial proposals.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract signing and partnership development.
- Set measurable objectives aligned with revenue goals and report regularly on progress to senior leadership.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities within the travel industry.
- Contribute valuable insights to product positioning and go-to-market approaches based on frontline market intelligence.
- Foster long-term strategic relationships with key accounts and distribution partners.
- Collaborate with integration, product, and finance teams to ensure successful deal execution and onboarding.
- Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive deal records in the CRM system for seamless executive review.
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years in business development roles within the travel and technology sectors.
- Demonstrated success in building pipelines from zero and closing deals valued in the six-figure range.
- Confidence in engaging and negotiating at the executive C-suite level.
- Legal eligibility to work in the US or Canada without requiring visa support; ability to travel freely.
Desired Attributes:
- A proactive mindset characterized by taking ownership and persistence in overcoming challenges.
- Resilience and ability to navigate objections without losing forward momentum.
- Strategic prioritization skills with focus on high-potential opportunities rather than unproductive leads.
- Clear and precise communication style keeping leadership well-informed independently.
- Self-motivation with minimal need for daily supervision.
Additional Advantages:
- Experience working with SaaS platforms, ancillary revenue streams, insurance technology, or fintech products.
- An established network within online travel agencies, booking platforms, or travel consortiums.
Compensation & Benefits
This permanent, full-time role includes a competitive salary combined with uncapped commission potential. The package also offers remote and flexible working options, along with medical and dental insurance coverage.
Application Instructions
Applicants are requested to submit their curriculum vitae along with a concise paragraph detailing an example of a sales pipeline they have built from scratch and the resultant closed deal value. This information is valued more highly than a conventional cover letter.
