Overview
This role, representing a partner company in the United States, seeks a Director of National Accounts to spearhead strategic growth in insurance distribution. The incumbent will develop and nurture significant relationships with key insurance brokers and agencies nationwide, focusing on scalable distribution tactics and long-term partnership building across various product lines. Fully remote, the position offers significant influence over business growth and distribution strategy within a technology-enabled insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and expand relationships with national and regional brokerages, agency groups, aggregators, and distribution partners.
- Create and implement account strategies to boost production, increase product penetration, and solidify durable partner relations.
- Identify and chase strategic opportunities in distribution aligned with corporate growth aims and market development.
- Develop trusted partnerships with senior leadership, brokers, and regional sales teams.
- Negotiate partnership agreements, including commission structures and incentive programs, alongside internal departments.
- Collaborate with territory and distribution teams to translate national partnerships into localized sales results.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and events to widen market presence.
- Provide critical market insights and competitive feedback to underwriting and product development teams.
- Support specialty program development and scalable distribution solutions like delegated authority models.
- Track and analyze account performance metrics, pipeline, and market trends, reporting regularly.
- Present strategic business updates and recommendations to senior executives.
Experience & Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in national accounts, strategic insurance partnerships, wholesale brokerage, MGA/MGU, or carrier distribution.
- Demonstrated success managing large broker and agency relationships with proven production growth.
- Experience with complex property insurance markets, such as homeowners, commercial property, flood, or specialty insurance preferred.
- Background in MGA, program business, or specialty insurance is advantageous.
- Excellent influencing skills across organizational levels, from leadership to field teams.
- Strong negotiation skills in partnership agreements and complex deal closures.
- Analytical aptitude for data interpretation, trend identification, and strategic planning.
- Effective communication and presentation capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; MBA is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, collaboration tools (Teams, Slack), and insurance technologies.
- Licensed insurance professional status or the ability to obtain such licensing.
- Self-motivated with capability to function independently in a remote setting with reliable internet and dedicated workspace.
- Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and networking events.
