Job description
Role Overview
The Director of Investment and Commissioning for Child and Family leads strategic initiatives to implement the department's transformative reform agenda, focusing on enhancing frontline outsourced service delivery. This role involves developing procurement strategies for target outcomes via non-government organizations and other service providers, alongside overseeing program performance to guarantee value for money and responsible governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and apply modern investment and contracting methods in the human and social services sector, encouraging best practices in contract management, outcome tracking, and client benefit delivery for targeted populations.
- Provide high-level leadership to manage and coordinate investment across Child and Family programs ensuring culturally sensitive and effective service provision to diverse children, youth, and family demographics.
- Build and nurture partnerships with government and non-government agencies to optimize investments and enhance results throughout the child and family service continuum.
- Participate in formulating legislative and strategic policy proposals, including Cabinet and budget review submissions, and undertake evaluations to inform government decisions impacting the NGO sector.
- Contribute to reforms concerning investment and financial as well as systemic sustainability within Child and Family Services.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing bureaucratic complexities within the department, monitoring and reporting on cost savings.
Mandatory Requirements
- Possess deep expertise regarding current policies, philosophies, trends, and practices in human services provision.
