Director - Gas Distribution Operations and Resilience

Position Overview

Talisman is engaged by a top-tier consultancy to recruit a seasoned leader specializing in utility operations with extensive experience in gas distribution systems, field management, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure resilience. This role involves guiding utility clients in enhancing operational dependability, preparing for severe weather, updating system technologies, and managing risks to vital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance to clients on gas distribution system operations, ensuring reliability and the development of emergency response and resilience plans.
• Assist with storm incident management, restoration strategies, readiness assessments, and initiatives aimed at modernizing infrastructure.
• Deliver specialized knowledge across various areas including gas operations, construction, maintenance, engineering, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with senior executives to enhance operational performance, oversee risk management activities, and plan for system resilience.
• Contribute to wider projects involving utility sector transformations and infrastructure modernization.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• More than 15 years of experience within regulated utility operational settings.
• Profound expertise in natural gas distribution and field operations leadership.
• Proven capabilities in emergency response, storm recovery, reliability assurance, and resilience enhancement.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure and maintenance departments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance matters governing utilities.
