Overview
Reporting directly to the Business Unit Finance Lead, the Director of FP&A will provide financial leadership and support for the assigned Precision AQ (PAQ) business segments. PAQ employs roughly 1,300 people, with 630+ in Engagement Solutions, a rapidly growing division segmented into four main business units: Advertising, Investor Relations Services, Medical Communications, and Market Access.
Business Units
- Advertising: Offers consulting and advisory support for large pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including brand strategy, omnichannel campaigns, and digital/media strategies.
- Investor Relations Services (IREC): Provides biotech advisory services to bolster internal or outsourced investor relations teams, supporting IPO planning, targeting investors, communications, events, and analyst education.
- Medical Communications: Delivers scientific platform communication, key opinion leader engagement, peer-to-peer tactics, and competitive intelligence services.
- Market Access: Consulting for pharma and biotech companies targeting payer communication, channel strategy, access support, affordability, and account management tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the VP of Finance and business unit leaders in planning, forecasting, reporting, and analyzing financials for assigned PAQ divisions.
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, integrating business input, operating assumptions, and risk assessments.
- Prepare monthly financial results, variance analyses, KPI reporting, dashboards, and presentations explaining business performance relative to budget and forecasts.
- Identify and communicate vital business drivers, risks, and growth opportunities affecting revenue, margins, EBITDA, staffing, and utilization.
- Support financial decision-making including staffing, investments, pricing strategies, project evaluations, and profitability reviews.
- Work closely with Accounting, Client Finance, other FP&A teams, and partners to improve reporting accuracy and meet month-end close deadlines.
- Standardize finance processes, reporting tools, templates, dashboards, and operating metrics across business areas.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and special projects, providing actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Manage and mentor assigned finance team members through prioritization, feedback, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree focusing on accounting, finance, or business.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and training.
- Strong commercial acumen and curious mindset with ability to distill complex financial information into clear business insights.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce, BI dashboards, and ERP data access.
- Proven time management, prioritization, and organizational competency to manage competing demands in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail for complex reporting and deadlines.
- Experienced partner to senior leadership and business stakeholders, presenting synthesized qualitative and quantitative data.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, establishing credibility internally and externally.
- Balanced leadership approach—both managing and contributing to team deliverables with quality and timeliness.
- Ethical, discreet, with integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information.

Additional Information
Estimated salary range for this role is approximately USD 162,000 to 243,000 annually, reflecting factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and organizational needs. Compensation decisions vary per individual case.
