Role Summary
EDC is hiring a permanent Director for Digital Technology & Advanced Manufacturing within the Sectors and International Advisory team of the Mid-Market Group. This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping sector strategy, creating new export opportunities for Canadian companies, and enabling cross-functional teams to deliver business impact across digital technology and advanced manufacturing.

Relocation support may be offered to candidates who meet the required conditions.
What You Will Do

- Lead both direct team members and a wider group of subject matter experts, formally and informally, to align work across programs and practices.
- Encourage knowledge-sharing and insight exchange through virtual communities of practice that help sector specialists increase support for Canadian exporters.
- Oversee partnership-based delivery of priority initiatives.
- Design tools and operating approaches that support Mid-Market goals around capital deployment, market reach, and business connections, including a strong referral model.
- Direct the Canadian exporter side of the Business Connection Program on an ongoing basis.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement, make better use of available capacity, and identify opportunities to work more effectively with other EDC teams.
What EDC Is Looking For
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or an equivalent professional designation, in a relevant field.
- At least 10 years of combined experience in business development and technical advisory work related to digital technology, advanced technologies, or advanced manufacturing.
- A minimum of 5 years in leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of sales and account management best practices.
- A broad, established global professional network along with substantial technical and commercial understanding developed through relevant hands-on experience.
- Demonstrated success working in a matrixed organization and guiding virtual teams through strong influencing skills.
- Bilingual ability in English and French, with at least Level B2 speaking proficiency in both official languages.
Preferred Strengths
- Familiarity with EDC’s products, services, and programs.
- Technical understanding of supply chains gained through direct work within the Canadian exporter ecosystem.

Applicants must also satisfy the required government security screening. Only candidates who meet all essential qualifications and submit their application by the closing date will be considered.
Why Join EDC
