Overview
Springbrook NY, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join its care team in the Oneonta Region. This role supports adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities through meaningful day-to-day assistance in home, educational, and community settings.
Employees in this position help create positive experiences through activities such as shopping, sports, meal preparation, and community outings. The work is varied, relationship-focused, and centered on helping each person live with dignity, choice, and greater independence.
New hires may qualify for a $1,500 sign-on bonus. Pay is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Position Summary
The Direct Support Professional provides assistance to individuals in educational, residential, and community environments. The role includes support with activities of daily living, including personal care, while encouraging independence and helping maintain a safe and orderly program. The position also requires adherence to Springbrook policies and state regulations.
Work Schedule
Both full-time and part-time openings are available. Shifts may include days, evenings, and overnights, and weekend work may be required. Flexible scheduling is expected, including mandatory overtime when needed. Staff may also be reassigned to different locations depending on operational needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates should hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with comfort using email and common software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. The ability to learn additional software is also important.
This position requires the physical ability to lift 50 lbs independently and assist with lifting loads over 50 lbs. Applicants must be able to carry out all physical interventions, meet the requirements for operating Springbrook vehicles, and hold a valid driver’s license.
